100 Happy Days: Day 70 café and verse

Happiness is meeting writer friends over coffee and verse.

The idea is to meet and share our written work. We met this afternoon, just four of us to share our work: poems, fiction and some beautiful ideas on how to add colors to our poetry verse

I read my work on Kay Mukarni, which is an interesting genre of riddles played between two people, where one describes something in the way that is mistaken by the other as a reference to the first one’s beloved, but which finally turns out to be something completely different.

My friends loved it and they have promised to write one on this genre too.

I love listening to people’s work and I like to hear the critique that follows and guides us on how the work can be improved. Although I may not have much to contribute, I come home packed with new ideas and enough inspiration to write more.

Its always a fun afternoon.

So here I am, with the project of 100 Happy DaysI am posting pictures each day here on my blog then sharing the link on my page on FB too. You can enjoy my work either here or on my page at FB at Pushee’s World

100 Happy Days: Day 69 Food Doodling

Happiness is doodling a recipe.

I have been drooling on food pictures because they look so real. I envy the professional photographers who know the exact lighting and the angle to get a picture perfect. I have an ordinary camera, so I cannot really boast on my photographs.

But yes, I do manipulate on Photoshop to get some impressive results. Presently, the latest fad is food doodling. There are many apps available on android where food bloggers are sketching recipes. I have not yet learnt that skill, but my doodling is still on Photoshop.

I clicked a real picture of the tomato omelet I made for dinner, later, I gave a doodle effect on Photoshop with few brush strokes and filters.

It looks good, isn’t it? I am happy with the results!

100 Happy Days: Day 68 Home-Cooked Food

Happiness is being able to cook faster than a take-a-way service.

Its just laziness that makes us scan through the list of restaurants in our area and order a take-a-way instead of cooking at home.

Actually, whenever I have ordered Chinese meal from a restaurant it takes exactly 45 minutes to arrive, sometimes even more. Cooking at home is much faster, especially fast food like Chinese. This is the fastest and easiest cuisine. It just chop-chop, stir-fry and it’s ready.

And the brownie point is: its healthy, hygienic and economical.

I cooked stir-fry vegetables with white rice in just 15minutes.

Bliss!

100 Happy Days: Day 67 Face Time

Happiness is meeting family on Face Time.

I belong to a close-knit family who are spread all over the world and sometimes I don’t meet them for years.. I hate talking on the phone but have good time with my cousins and family when we meet personally. Thanks to cyber connection, the world has become a smaller place

We are now connected through FaceTime and Skype. Although thousand of miles apart, we connect online. I enter their house through a small window, observing the furniture in the room, see what is cooking in the kitchen, and peep out from their balcony to see the view. It’s like travelling to their home without a proper tourist visa. But it feels great to be able to chat with cousins face-to-face, see them smile, complain and joke…

During my one-hour chat with my cousin, I saw her cook dhal, rice and egg borchi, then sit and eat.

Its fun really….

100 Happy Days: Day 66 Lunch Home

Happiness is having delicious food at humble places.

Was out on an errand the whole morning.  It was almost 3pm before I could think of having lunch. I walked through a dirt road thinking about what I could eat. Should I enter a pizzeria or should I enter  a Subway, a south Indian restaurant or maybe Chinese? I had seen these eateries earlier from an auto-rickshaw when I had passed through this route and had made a mental note of it.

After finishing my errand, I started to walk in that direction when I sighted a humble Lunch home. I peeped in and saw few people seated on wooden benches having meal of Indian platter. The fragrance of food was over powering. I could not stop myself from walking in and having an ordinary food of just peas potatoes and Indian roti.

It tasted yummicious, I didn’t care about hygiene issues for once.

I am glad I didn’t.
