100 Happy Days: Day 92 Mango Slices

Happiness is reviving childhood Memories

I remember the school days, while we waited for our school bus to arrive; we munched on raw mangoes, ripe tamarinds and sour berries. We never washed our hands before eating, just gobbled the food sold openly outside our school gates.

Not sure if the food was hygienic or not, but we never got sick after eating the street food.

Today, those memories came flooding back when I sprinkled red pepper and salt and ate the spicy snack of raw mangoes in the comfort of my home.

And yes, I washed the fruit first.

100 Happy Days: Day 91 At Special School

Happiness is coming to Special School

Came to school to spend two days to catch up with the workload that cannot be done online. But it’s always a pleasure coming here. It’s nice to watch them play. Many children are learning to play table tennis and they want me to see them play. So I just stood there watching them.

The children at vocational unit come selling the masala that they grind. I brought red chili powder. They learn to pack, weigh and calculate in an informal way. Children are taught according to their ability.

But most of my time was spent designing an appeal brochure for the school. Time just passes, and suddenly all kids are gone back home and there is complete silence.

100 Happy Days: Day 90 Edible Gifts

Happiness is getting edible gifts

Friend went to her village near Alibaag and brought me white onions. I am planning to make onion pickle.

I like when friends get me edible gifts. My uncle brings me frozen food from Bangkok whenever he visits me. My friends get for me street food of the place they are visiting. My cousins bring me soup packets and sauces, exotic fruits and vegetables.

Edible gift, though they have short shelf life, they are more appreciated than gifts like perfumes and clothes.

The reason is that the edible gifts are enjoyed best when shared.

100 Happy Days: Day 89 Interview

Happiness is interviewing a celebrity Chef in his own restaurant

Such splendor in the interiors of Nido at Bandra, I was not in the know about this beautiful Bistro that specializes in old classic cuisine.

Over a cup of coffee, I had a small chat with celebrity Chef Vicky Ratnani and learnt about his cuisine adventures in luxury cruise, ‘Queen Elizabeth2’ where he served some well-known personalities like Nelson Mandela and Bollywood star Gene Hackman.

Will submit the interview to a magazine for publication soon.

100 Happy Days: Day 88 Grooming

Happiness is pampering self

Beauty salon is such a luxury. You just relax on your back, plug your ears to your favorite music, shut your eyes, stretch and be pampered.

Facial, head massage, manicure, pedicure, such bliss. Return home clean and refreshed

A day well spent.
