100 Happy Days: Day 75 Mumbai Bliss

Happiness is living in Mumbai City

I sat by the window and watched the moving scene. There were dusty cars under every bridge; the hawkers occupied every shade over the foot path, street urchins begged at every traffic light. Thousands of people on the road...everybody in hurry to go some place. "I must find happiness, I have to" I mumbled "Today I must find some happiness on Mumbai streets..

And happiness I did find, in the familiarity of the place, in the security I felt while returning back from late night shows, I found happiness in the warmth of my fellow Mumbaites.

There is some magic in Mumbai city that people outside my city might not know.

Mumbai is my true home.

100 Happy Days: Day 74 Tourism Malaysia

Happiness is attending the press conference of Malaysian Tourism

Malaysia is promoting its tourist destinations and has over 200 events lined up during this year, 2014. It is unfortunate that this press conference happened at wrong moment, and that main inquiry during the press conference was about the missing plane and less about what Malaysia has to offer.

But during discussion, I was happy to hear that Malaysia is shopper’s paradise with special year-end sale in the month of November.

I was also very happy to know that there will be three-month long (October to December) food festival. It will be divided into four segments: The Malaysian International Gourmet Festival, The Asian Food Heritage Trail, the Street Food Festival and the Restaurant Food Festival.

Now I sit twiddling my thumbs waiting for an invite from Malaysian Tourism. I am already dreaming of walking down the streets that have fragrance of Malaysian cuisine.....

100 Happy Days: Day 73 Celebrating Holi

Happiness is celebrating Holi festival

Holi is the festival during which mind and body, both play wicked games. I didn’t actually play with colors, but just a small smudge of red color was rubbed on my throat. My sister felt that I needed to stain my body some place.

But during my walk in my lane, I saw children playing happily with colors and water balloons, some men, too drunk to walk on their own, swayed, fell, wobbled with support and then there were group of young people gyrating to the loud music of Bollywood numbers.

The main idea is to enjoy. For me it was a day to celebrate with my family and enjoy my favorite meals of pulav, greens and deep fried brinjal.

100 Happy Days: Day 72 Visiting Card

Happiness is designing your own virtual visiting cards

Every social meeting I attend, I am back with big stack of visiting cards from the people whom I am meeting the first time. It’s unnecessary waste of card paper. Most of them find their way to garbage and some are just lying around in the cabinet waiting for attention.

Who needs visiting cards? In the active social media like twitter and facebook, no identity is hidden. It is easy to contact people through a private message. Visiting cards are losing their value. People just want to know your twitter/ instagram or facebook handle and they can find you.

I don’t have a visiting card, but have enjoyed creating one on Photoshop. If anybody were to ask me, I will just send a virtual card.

Good feeling!!!

100 Happy Days: Day 71 Puffed Roti

Happiness is reviewing a new product in the market

My roti never puff like a balloon, that I don’t make chappatis is another issue. In India I have the comfort of a helper who will willingly make roti for me. But nevertheless, I was happy to attend the launch of new product called ‘Jiwa Atta’. This is different from normal atta. It is more healthy and rich with nutrients

Fun afternoon was spent rolling the atta, and filling it with exotic vegetables and dips. The concept is very impressive of making the combination of dips, vegetables and salad to be rolled in the different selection of roti made from the atta that varies from range: Jawar, Bajra, slimming, diabetic, blood pressure, etc.

It’s a big choice….
