Marathon Bloggers prompt 4- Disaster

It’s been long time, since I serviced my AC. I have called a technician several times but he doesn’t seem to care. He promise to come but he never turn up. If we don’t service our appliances regularly, they are destined to get worse.

Two week ago, my neighbor gave me a contact of another AC service guy. She said he is very reasonable, will charge only Rs150 for cleaning. I have called him several times, but cannot get through his number too.  Since few days, the fan is also troublesome; it needs a nudge with a stick to start. In this weather of warm and sticky, AC and Fan, both act funny, its disaster.

Today morning, another problem, it was fridge that suddenly stopped working. So here I was calling this fridge technician to come and solve this problem.

If the technician can repair a fridge then he can repair AC and the fan too, right?

I told him to fix all the problems.

The fridge and fan, each needs a new accessory, AC needs gas and cleaning.

Plus I am not sure if he will replace with an original accessory or something fake made in China.

China has really destroyed the market of India. We don’t seem to get any authentic stuff. Everything is the imitation. The appliances need replacement of parts too often. There is no guarantee.

Technician says that he is not making any profit. Who is making money then?

Earlier people were honest, now there is too much greed. Nobody is sincere- neither a professional doctor, engineer, lawyer nor an ordinary technician, everybody out to cheat. Whom can we trust?

I am poorer by Rs5000 without stepping out of my house. Too much inflation now, thanks to China market flooding our Indian streets. We spend money but are never sure how soon the problem will re-occur. If he has cheated me, then he will not come back to replace it, I will have a task of searching a new technician again.

Today I am in a phunny mood!

During my last visit to China, I noticed that nobody smiled and I was thinking are they stressed out? All had tight lips sealed from corner to corner, not a curve anywhere, as if their lips were glued in position and were afraid of some kind of punishment if they dared to smile.

So you would think there is no humor in china

There! You are wrong again.

They have fantastic sense of humor only they don’t see it

But they truly have phunny translator who do justice to our language

Justice to English?

Well! why not?

Have you travelled by bus in China? No?

Then next time you visit China, please do travel by bus and if you are lucky you will be travelling in the same bus as I did, which had this threatening note just above the dashboard.

The bus is running? and I am not supposed to spam seats? How do we spam seats? Mess around? Oh never mind…..

Sitting in stable?…..er..stable? ....I am reminded of horses….

Never spreading arms and body? How do we spread our body outside the window?

I might try to..but my size is not as thin as Chinese size. .maybe they use window to exit from the bus? Er?

Going up and taking off?? Is there some short cut to heaven?

It was my first day in China, first ride and the humor had just begun

I did enjoy my stay in China…the humor was behind those closed lips...humor zipped behind those lips..hahaha.... Lucky lips!

Competitive World

I sat in front of my plasma to watch the greatest show on the earth. The Olympic Inauguration show left me spell bound. It was an amazing $300 million spectacle that featured 15,000 performers, nearly 11,000 athletes from 204 countries, and I envied those who were present there to witness it in person. All I can say is ´Wow´ With large population it is easy to sort great number of talents and place them into different slots. On word ´China´, we think of food, painting, and Tai chi, imitation of branded goods, fire works, and human rights and now we will talk about the stunning big bang show of drummers and box men and amazing fire works Can it be replicated by another nation too? Can we do it? We have a large population in India too. We too have great number of talents worth mentioning. Unfortunately, many of them are stamped under the heavy foot of politics and diplomacy of the system. Besides having talent, it is important to have influence or money to pull the strings. Last year, one special child (whom I know personally) was selected for Special Olympics. Special coach was appointed to train her for table tennis event, passport and all travelling needs were met but she was dropped off from the games just few weeks before the games. No reasons given. The parents and her teachers were shocked by these turn of events but chose to remain silent. If deserving candidates are not given chance to enter the competitive world, how can we expect to bring home any Gold?
