Some Captured moments In Puducherry

The road never looked so long when I was in good spirit. I could walk miles on end, alone, deep in my thoughts, not realizing how much path I had traversed. I had always loved walking, specially on a smooth path or on a muddy track. It gave me the opportunity to be with self, to think clearly. But today, every step was difficult. The pain in my foot protested. "Stop" it said "I cannot go for long" After every small step, I winced in pain. Should I ignore and move on? Was it worth it? I could take my medicines at night but I must go on…how can one stop living?….Pain was no excuse…..time does not wait……This moment would never arrive again….pain always returned but it had never hijacked my life...….."Stop" said the pain..pulling my nerve till I could acknowledge its presence. "Ouch!"…I turned around to look for a bench…..

What I liked best abt our guest house in #Puducherrywas the rock garden with the waterfall n small pond where colorful fishes swam fearlessly.. The food was good so was the comfort. I went with a big yoga group from Mumbai so we were clubbed into dormitory with ten women, it was like Bigg Boss experience with 50 shades of grey.....all other rooms were occupied so we had no choice but sit back n enjoy the live show of entertainment during early morning hours.

While we fussed around looking for a clean table to have our meals, the group of women sat comfortably on the floor enjoying their meals . There was no fuss over non-availabilty of fork n spoon or over a leaf of tissue paper. A simple Satvic food of ragi juice, lentil soup, pilaf and sprout salad was all they cared. Easily, they sat crossed legs, contentment writ on their face. I admired their attitude of enjoying each morsel of food n thanking Lord for this day.....

The Year That It Was- 2014

2014 as been a fantastic year even though I had started the year with a pain (fracture in my knee and couldn’t walk for a month) and ended with a pain (foot sprain and homebound for full month of December.

But then that’s life. Pain is the part of my life, otherwise this has been a very eventful year.

January witnessed a family reunion at Jaipur during the family wedding. Even though I was in pain, and the cold was unbearable for me but spending time with my cousins was rewarding.

During the first three months of the year clicked pictures for #100HappyDays with my FB virtual friends celebrating life in pictures

A trip to Krabi and Bangkok during the month of June was very eventful. Attended a family wedding that was quite different from the other weddings in the sense it was very informal and very exciting.

June was also the month of the release of my cookbook #SindhiCusine, that I launched in Krabi at the beach party and it has been a great success.

September was the special month, much excitement over the redevelopment of my 50years old building. I have moved to a rented place for two years and looking forward to going back to a brand new house after two years

This year also saw the graduation in medicine of my niece, of whom I am very proud.

There have been many poetry and literature events that I have attended during this year but the online story contest was fun where I grouped with 10 more bloggers and created a story during the month of August to celebrate Blogging.

This year made 20 new friends during my trip to Lonavala, same age, same taste, a group of friends I hope to hold on for life.

On the creative front, have made three paintings in acrylics, all given away in gifts (for house warming and wedding gifts)

Most of my reading has been done online, reading stories on Flipboard, ISSU and friend’s blogs but offline, I have managed to read only six books during this year.

Greatest happiness was that my school completed 25 years of service and there was a great celebration this year.

Unfortunately, I lost one close friend Monika pant who succumbed to Cancer. A good writer and a friend.

Have been very active on my food blog this year, visiting different restaurants and reviewing products and hotels. Have made overall around 193 blog posts this year.

Have no plans for the next year, don't know what improvement I need, what went wrong, but I hope 2015 will be equally good, I will enjoy each day as it comes, savoring each moment, for the better or for the worse….and yes..I will now learn to walk more carefully on Mumbai roads in future….

100 Happy Days: Day 76 Holiday Memories

Happiness is refreshing the memories of another day.

Sometimes, when I sit alone, in my own world, mind wanders off to the places I have visited before.

Just few months ago I was in Las Palmas, an islet of beautiful Canary Islands. I was in deep pain and could walk for not more than ten minutes, but the lovely family that I belong to, would not let me sit bored at home. What is pain, it comes and goes. My nephew drove me in his comfortable car around the island from North to South, for ten hours.

We passed the curvy hills, through the thick foliage of pine trees, to the beaches by the waterfront. The air was crisp and cool; the climate differed drastically as we drove from very cold North to very warm South. We visited typical Spanish villages, stopped by farmer’s market, ate the local cuisine.

Didn’t realize my tiredness till I touched the bed, late at night.

So here I am, with the project of 100 Happy DaysI am posting pictures each day here on my blog then sharing the link on my page on FB too. You can enjoy my work either here or on my page at FB at Pushee’s World
